When the first words Tracy Morgan uttered were that he was hit by a Wal-Mart truck, I knew the comedian that I was familiar with was back.

For the next hour Morgan — of “Martin,” “Saturday Night Live” and “30 Rock” fame — riled up the crowd with his unabashedly raw comedy.
When I arrived at the Cobb Energy Centre Saturday for his “Picking Up The Pieces” tour, I wondered if Morgan would come full guns a blazing, being his first tour since his life-threatening accident in 2014. But to my delight he didn’t skip a beat.
To me the show was a full balance of serious discussions about the accident that landed him in a coma weaved through some pure, unfiltered Morgan spiel he’s always been known for. This tour is a testament in how the one thing you love can be the thing that helps pull you back to the world. Morgan was truly made for comedy and I’m glad to have been able to experience his craft live.
His tour continues across the country through June, so if you’re able to travel to see him live, I suggest you take that trip. You won’t be disappointed.
